Countdown to Kick-Off…
In just 44 days, the Calvary Christian Academy football team will Kick-Off the 2011 season against Florida Christian. Much remains to be done between now and then. Construction of the new football stadium and renovation of the 6290 building continue on the Cypress Creek Road property. Your Eagle players have remained focused during summer strength and conditioning despite being displaced from former locker facilities and training in a temporary weight room.
The FCA Team Camp at Ave Maria University is the next big growth opportunity for the team. While we have a few young men out of the country on missions trips, nearly the entire varsity/JV team has opportunity to attend. We look forward to growing together spiritually, mentally, socially and physically during our 4 days away. If you haven’t done so already, please register today!
This morning’s scripture reading – Acts 8 – spoke loudly to those called to disciple, pastor and teach. Philip asked the Ethiopian man who was reading the book of Isaiah, “Do you understand what you’re reading?” Philip shows us a great example of engaging. The response of the Ethiopian to Philip’s question is likewise a strong message as he asks, “How can I unless someone guides me?” Blessings.
